A coffee served to a visitor, a tea in the late afternoon or a conversation that goes on without looking at the clock. Some small gestures make a home. These six coasters, with flowers hand-painted on a blue background, add an Alentejo touch to those moments.

Story of the piece

Box with Coasters

Alentejo flowers for moments of pause

In Alentejo painted furniture, flowers take pride of place. On chairs, chests, chests of drawers and trays, floral motifs bring colour to everyday pieces and carry into the home a decorative tradition rooted in the region.

In this box, artisan Zézinha brings that tradition to six matching coasters, with a blue background and hand-painted floral decoration. They are practical pieces that carry on an art she learned four decades ago from her master and still preserves in Redondo.

In her painting, she keeps a very personal gesture: she draws the centre of the flowers with her finger and then completes the motifs with brushes, working the colours and contrasts.

Small everyday objects that bring Alentejo painting to the simple moments of being at home.

Small pauses. With Alentejo flowers underneath.

PINTAR O DIA‑A‑DIA DO ALENTEJO

A continuidade do ofício preocupa Zézinha.
