Alentejo painting on a watering can

Miniature Watering Can

Hand-painted flowers to keep the ones in the pot company.

Story of the piece

Miniature Watering Can

A watering can where flowers grow too

In Alentejo painted furniture, flowers and branches are motifs that have passed down through generations. Painted by hand, they bring colour to everyday pieces and keep alive a tradition that keeps finding new ways to express itself.

On this small watering can with a yellow background, artisan Zézinha brings that decorative language to an object made to be used. While the water helps the plants grow, the painting recalls the flowers that have long been part of Alentejo homes.

There is something special about this combination: caring for plants with an object that also celebrates nature, through an art Zézinha, from Redondo, learned four decades ago.

A watering can for everyday use, with flowers made timeless by the skill and art of its artisans.

Flowers that need no water. On a can that takes it to the others.

PINTAR O DIA‑A‑DIA DO ALENTEJO

A continuidade do ofício preocupa Zézinha.
