Cider from a rare apple

Apple Cider

The Tibães apple, turned into a craft cider.

Story of the piece

Apple Cider

Hooked on its history

In Tibães, in Minho, the Casais family has been reviving and preserving the Porta da Loja apple, an old variety linked to the history of the Tibães Monastery and to the rural memory of the region.

This apple has come through the centuries, irregular and stubborn, delighting whoever found it fallen from the tree, ready for a juicy bite.

Today the Casais family gives it a new life. The apple leaves the orchard and, in the hands of people who respect where it comes from, becomes a craft cider. That is how the Porta da Loja Apple Cider was born, with an acidic touch that comes from the apple itself.

For a toast at the end of the day, light and guilt free.
