Scarves are like the embraces that keep us warm.

There are scarves that hold memories. We wind them around our necks the way we embrace someone, sheltering from the cold outside, or from the cold that longing brings. They are not accessories. They are keepsakes of moments held between life's turns.

Wound or draped, they become an extension of who we are, of what we have lived, revealing an essence that only touch can awaken.

Alice Aranha's scarves are born of this careful attention, capable of turning every thread into an embrace. Hand-woven, with natural yarns dyed by her own hand in colours drawn from nature, each piece is unique. In warm autumn tones, or in the vivid colours that bring the sun back.

In this scarf, made with Portuguese wool yarns, the reds come from cochineal and dyer's madder, while the yellows and oranges bloom from onion skins and coreopsis flowers grown in the courtyard of her studio. Layer upon layer, stitch upon stitch, every detail of this scarf holds time and care.

Through her art of weaving and natural dyeing, Alice Aranha turns every scarf into a gesture of intimacy. One that invites us to feel warmth, and to feel.
