ABOUT THE MATERIALS

The petals are dyed with cochineal and madder to obtain red, while the green stems and leaves are dyed with weld and indigo. Natural fibres such as silk and cotton are used, worked with a silver hook.
TIMELESS
Alice Aranha’s work revives ancient techniques through a contemporary vision, stitch by stitch. Each piece represents the botanical world in the form of textile threads, creating a bond between craft tradition and modern artistic expression. In her workshop in Caldas da Rainha, one purpose hums: transforming natural fibres into unique textile jewellery. This is not merely the making of accessories, but a way of bringing stories and textures to life, piece by piece. To wear one of her creations is to celebrate the delicacy and persistence of handwork.
