The story5piecesSee the pieces

Deolinda Campelo is the second act of a story that began in 1988 when her mother, Aurora Miranda do Rego, started a small family business raising pigs with time and care for the animals and the land, just as their ancestors had done for centuries. The meat was smoked with local oak wood and cured for months before being sliced and finally savoured.

Eleven years later, in 1999, Deolinda took over the management of Quinta dos Fumeiros and honoured her mother by transforming the family smokehouse into a pearl of Portuguese charcuterie.

Even today, flavour remains only the second most important thing to Deolinda. People always come first. Deolinda wants her farmers, technicians, family, and neighbours to be happy: she likes being able to call them "happy people." And if happiness has a flavour, it is certainly salted with tradition and innovation. Deolinda and her team carry the tradition forward, refining processes, creating new recipes, and breathing new life into historical flavours.

Directly from Ponte de Lima (Minho, Portugal) to the world.

Quinta dos Fumeiros
The journey

Quinta dos Fumeiros

Family Origins

Deolinda Campelo is the second act of a story that began in 1988, when her mother Aurora Miranda do Rego started a small family business raising pigs with time and care for the animals and the land, the way her ancestors had done for centuries. The meat was smoked over local oak firewood and cured for months before being sliced and finally tasted.

Taking the Lead

Eleven years later, in 1999, Deolinda became head of Quinta dos Fumeiros and has honoured her mother by transforming the family smokehouse into a distinguished pearl of Portuguese charcuterie.

Philosophy and Priorities

Still, to this day, flavour is only the second most important thing for Deolinda. Because, first and foremost, it has always been about people. Deolinda wants her farmers, technicians, family members and neighbours to be happy: she wants to be able to call them “happy people”.

Tradition and Innovation

And if happiness has a taste, it is salted with tradition and innovation. Deolinda and her people carry tradition forward by improving processes, creating new recipes and giving historic flavours a new life. Straight from Ponte de Lima to the world.
The technique

ABOUT SMOKED PORK

The pork used is raised traditionally, with access to natural pastures. Smoking is done with local oak wood, a method that dates back to our ancestors, and prolonged curing allows complex flavours to develop.
TIMELESS
In Portugal, love is shown through food. Deolinda learned this truth from her mother Aurora, who passed on not only recipes for delicacies, but also the recipe for a business based on human values. Quinta dos Fumeiros is more than just a charcuterie producer; it is a family legacy where tradition and innovation intertwine. Each product carries with it the history of a family dedicated to the land and animals, and Deolinda's commitment to the happiness of the people involved in the process.
