A copper artist, native of Feiteira, a small village in the parish of Cachopo (Algarve, Portugal), Nuno Palma is a rare case of a young man who rescues traditional artisanal techniques from disappearing. His work celebrates time, beauty, and simplicity and can have a utilitarian or decorative purpose. As is the case with his rectangular Plate, the choice is ours.
He cuts the shiny pink-orange metal sheets himself and then softens the material over fire. The hammer molds and hardens the plate. Palma rubs it with sand to remove impurities, perfects it with several rounds of hammering, and gives it the final polish.
Picturesque and ready, it will look perfect on the table or on the wall, on its way to tomorrow.
