Ana Sincu's hands are calloused but happy. She is a master woodcarver and works with wood using only hand tools - chisels, gouges, knives, bench lathes, sandpaper. She likes to choose them one by one. She takes her time. It's what's known as working slowly. Perhaps we should follow her example.

Hand-carved wood

Hand-Carved Wooden Comb

Combing your hair with soft wood slows everything down.

Story of the piece

Hand‑Carved Wooden Comb

Comb your hair with soft wood and everything slows down.

Black acacia, sucupira tree, cedar tree, olive tree. Just to name a few.

Ana Sincu’s hands are callused but happy. She’s a master woodcarver and handles wood with exclusively manual tools - chisels, gouges, knives, bench lathes, sandpaper. She likes to pick them one by one. Takes her time. It’s called slow working. Maybe we should take the hint.

Because. Good. Things. Come. To those. Who wait.

That’s why Ana created this Comb, made by hand with no rush, for you to feel the natural and smooth touch of soft wood on your hair. Because routines don’t have to be stressful. Sometimes they can just be quiet luxuries.

This may be uncommon but here, in Ana’s workshop in Caldas da Rainha (Estremadura, Portugal), every tree is an object of respect. So is your experience.
