Infância e Formação

Ana Sincu nasceu na Moldávia em 1992 e passou a infância a tomar conta de gansos junto ao rio Prut. Aos 9 anos, mudou-se com a família para Portugal, onde mais tarde frequentou e concluiu a licenciatura em Belas-Artes na Universidade de Lisboa.

Despertar Artístico

Em 2020, durante a pandemia global, Ana regressou à casa de campo dos pais. O sossego do confinamento reacendeu uma profunda ligação com a natureza, inspirando-a a explorar a madeira como material - especificamente a madeira resultante da poda - valorizando o seu veio, aroma e textura.

Prática e Processo Artístico

A trabalhar na sua oficina, Ana utiliza apenas ferramentas manuais - facas, goivas, lixas e machados - para moldar madeira reaproveitada de árvores como o damasqueiro, a oliveira e a ameixieira. As suas criações de assinatura são colheres de madeira, cada uma única no tamanho, na forma e nas imperfeições, refletindo o caráter original da árvore de onde provém.
