Hand-woven silk and linen

Empress Scarf

A scarf inspired by the Empress card, in red and purple.

Story of the piece

Empress Scarf

Linen, silk, and the art of divination - handweaved in a unique scarf.

Sitting on a throne, surrounded by lush landscape, connected with the Earth, Venus and the zodiac - will you guess who we’re imagining here?

The Empress.

Have you ever had the cards read to you? Have you ever gotten The Empress?

Alice Aranha has. That’s were inspiration for the beautiful, handmade, silk and linen Lenço Imperatriz (Empress Scarf) came from. As if to be worn by The Empress herself, the one who nurtures the natural world, holds dominion over beauty, and knows the occult secrets of creativity and fertility. Red and purple are a careful, symbolic, powerful choice, conjured to evoke the feminine and its shadow, the innocence and the witchcraft.

The Empress of handweaved, naturally dyed crochet jewellery works from Caldas da Rainha (Estremadura, Portugal) and we don’t even need to resort to the art of divination to foresee that you will love to wear them.
