Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã

Anyone who visits the Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã gets to know its history. It was founded in 1957, when the love the region's farmers had for the land and the grapes, and for their craft, made them believe the dream was possible.

From the very beginning, the essence of this winery was always tied to families of wine-growing farmers who knew how to come together to work and vinify. And each cask of DOC wine spirit is today a reflection of generations who gave their lives to the land and to the craft - of turning grapes into distilled emotions.

Over time, the winery evolved. The reason lies in the land. The soils of Lourinhã, shaped by a climate that is at once oceanic and Mediterranean, produce mainly white grape varieties - Alicante-Branco, Boal Espinho, Marquinhas, Malvasia Rei (Seminário), Tália, Fernão Pires, Rabo de Ovelha, Seara Nova and Vital - with low alcohol content and high acidity. Rare characteristics. And essential for a spirit of great quality.

But all of this requires time, knowledge. Tradition. In the cellars of the Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã, you can feel this weight. It is there that each cask matures, by hand, in old woods. Patiently. Because excellence is never in a hurry.

In the cellars, the light is low and scarce, the air rarefied and the humidity high and constant.
Ageing at the Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã lasts at least 5 years. It takes place in barrels of Portuguese oak, French oak and chestnut. Without any added colouring. The colour comes with age.

The quality of the DOC Lourinhã brandy has been recognised nationally and internationally, winning several awards. But its deep aromas, the complexity and smoothness of its flavour are, above all, a tribute to the farmers and the master distillers. To the legacy of those who plant, harvest, ferment and distil, bottle and label. Bringing DOC Lourinhã wine spirit into every home. To be enjoyed, with time. With delight.
