About Ra-Ro
4 questionsWhat is Ra-Ro?
Ra-Ro is a project that preserves crafts and products almost lost to time, bringing together rare and exceptional pieces from small productions.
Ra-Ro is a bridge between past and future. We created this project to preserve crafts and products that were almost lost to time, giving them the place they deserve. Here you will find rare and exceptional pieces from small productions, each with its own story to tell.
How do you choose the products?
We choose unique, exceptional pieces made with age-old knowledge that hold tradition and authenticity.
We do not just choose objects, we choose stories. We look for unique pieces, made with age-old knowledge, respect for the process and a quality you can feel at first sight and touch. The criterion is simple: if it is exceptional, if it holds tradition and authenticity, we want to share it with you.
What kind of products does Ra-Ro aim to support?
Exceptional products with authenticity, quality and a story worth telling.
We look for the exceptional. Products that carry centuries of knowledge, techniques at risk of disappearing, materials worked with respect and time. They can be everyday objects or rarer pieces, but they always have something in common: authenticity, quality and a story that deserves to be told.
Do you have a physical shop?
No, for now Ra-Ro is online only.
Our home is online: a place where we bring together artisans from different regions. But we dream of opening the doors of a physical space in the future, where you can experience these pieces and stories up close.
Pieces and Ra-Ro Index
6 questionsWhat does “Ra-Ro Index” mean?
The Ra-Ro Index is our seal of singularity: it shows how unique each piece is.
It is our way of showing how special each piece is: whether it exists in small quantities, follows an almost forgotten technique or is the result of a lengthy process. The Ra-Ro Index gives you the measure of how unique your choice is.
Are the products handmade?
Yes: the pieces are made by hand or by artisanal methods.
It is in the artisan's hands and process that tradition stays alive. Each piece carries unique imperfections, signs that it did not come off a production line but from a human, patient and genuine process.
How do I know if a product is available?
Availability is always shown for each piece on our website.
Because we work with small, limited productions, pieces often sell out and may never be made again. Availability and rarity always go hand in hand.
Can I order a customised product?
In some cases, yes: some artisans accept made-to-measure pieces, and you can ask us about it by email.
Other pieces only exist as they are. You will not find this information on the website, but if you would like a customised product, you can contact us at hello@ra-ro.eu. We will always do our best to explore the possibility with the artisan.
How should I care for handcrafted products?
Follow the specific recommendations we share on each product page.
Each piece has its own way of being cared for. In general, think of them as something alive: ceramics that ask for gentleness, textiles that ask for gentle washing, wood that asks for nourishment and respect. The better you care for them, the longer these pieces will last.
How can I keep up with new products?
Follow our website and social media, where we share what is new.
There we share news, artisans' stories and the pieces that have just arrived. Because we work with limited series, paying attention can make all the difference: often, once a piece is gone, it will not exist again.
Orders and payments
2 questionsDo prices include VAT?
Yes, all prices shown on the website include VAT.
We like clarity: the price you see is the final price you pay.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit card, debit card, MB Way and bank transfer.
We accept the most common methods. We want the process to be simple and transparent, so you can focus on what matters: choosing the rare piece you will take home.
Shipping and delivery
4 questionsHow long will it take to receive my order?
It depends on the piece: the estimated production time is shown on each product page, and delivery then takes a few working days in Portugal and a little longer for other destinations.
Every product has its own pace. Production time can vary with factors such as the weather or the availability of raw materials, because these are living, manual processes, never industrial ones. Once production is complete, delivery follows normal shipping times. What we can promise is that when the piece reaches your hands, it is always worth the wait.
What are the shipping costs?
Shipping costs vary with the destination and the weight of your order, and are calculated at checkout before you complete your purchase.
No surprises. We always aim for shipping to be fair and transparent.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship internationally: the available countries are shown at checkout.
Our purpose is to connect local traditions with the world. If your country is not on the list, you can always get in touch with us. We like finding solutions.
How do I track my order?
As soon as your order leaves our hands, you will receive a tracking code to follow its journey to you.
Like to know where it is? So do we, and we share that journey with you.
Returns and warranty
4 questionsCan I return a product?
Yes, we accept returns within the legal period, provided the piece is returned in the same condition in which you received it.
Each product is unique and deserves to be treated with the same care with which it reached you. See our terms and conditions for details.
How does the return or exchange process work?
Contact us within the legal period and tell us the reason for the return or exchange.
We will give you the instructions needed to send the piece back. Once we receive it and confirm its condition, we will process the refund or exchange. The details are in our terms and conditions.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Let us know straight away and send us photos of the product and the packaging.
We will take care of the rest. Every piece is irreplaceable, but if something goes wrong in transit, we guarantee you will find a fast and fair response from us.
Do the products have a warranty?
Yes: if there is a manufacturing defect, Ra-Ro takes responsibility.
We will always be available to find the best solution with you. At the same time, it is worth remembering that each piece is handmade, so no two are ever exactly alike. That singularity is part of its beauty and of what makes it truly unique.
Artisans and crafts
6 questionsWho are the artisans behind the products?
They are masters and guardians of age-old knowledge who learned from previous generations and keep the craft alive.
They keep the craft alive with passion and dedication. Each of them has a face, a voice and a story that we share with you, because we believe the artisan is as important as the piece they create.
Does Ra-Ro only work with Portuguese artisans?
No: Portugal is the starting point, but Ra-Ro also welcomes artisans and traditions from other places in the world.
Portugal is our starting point and, for now, where most of our makers are. But our mission is broader: to preserve endangered crafts, wherever they may be. That is why we also make room for traditions and artisans from other parts of the world.
Are the makers only Portuguese?
No: Portugal is our starting point, but Ra-Ro is not limited by borders.
Portugal is where we find many of the pieces and artisans we represent. Our mission is to support endangered crafts and products wherever they are, because craft heritage is a global asset that deserves to be preserved.
How do you support the preservation of traditional crafts?
We give artisans visibility, tell their stories and make sure they receive a fair price.
In several ways: we give visibility to the artisans' work, we tell their stories and, finally, we make sure they receive a fair price, because Ra-Ro does not negotiate prices. Our role is to be a bridge between those who create and those looking for authentic pieces, helping these crafts not to be lost.
Does buying a product directly support the artisan?
Yes: Ra-Ro does not negotiate prices with artisans, because the fair value is set by those who create.
Every purchase is a gesture of recognition for the time, knowledge and dedication of those who keep the craft alive. We make sure every piece you buy reaches you with that dignity reflected in it, because without the artisans, without their hands, stories and persistence, none of this would exist.
Can I visit the artisans or their workshops?
It depends on the artisan: some welcome visitors, others prefer to keep their space as a workshop only.
In the future, we want to organise experiences that bring those who create and those who admire even closer. If you have an idea, send us an email at hello@ra-ro.eu and we can help.
Professionals and B2B
4 questionsDoes Ra-Ro work with architects and interior designers?
Yes, Ra-Ro works with architects and interior designers.
We know that many professionals look for unique pieces for their projects, and that is exactly what we offer. We collaborate with architects and designers who want to bring spaces to life with authentic, handmade objects full of history.
Can I buy Ra-Ro products in larger quantities for a specific project?
It is possible whenever the artisans have the production capacity: we assess each case together.
Every case is unique and depends on time, raw materials and the maker's availability. What we guarantee is that we never sacrifice quality or the integrity of the craft process.
Does Ra-Ro also produce content for organisations or brands?
Yes: we create documentaries, interviews and photographic records that give visibility to artisans and their crafts.
Beyond curating products, we tell stories. If you are an organisation or brand that shares this mission of recognition, we can work with you to introduce these makers to the world.
How can I propose a B2B collaboration?
Write to us at hello@ra-ro.eu with your idea or need.
We like building bridges and are always open to exploring new ways of preserving and promoting the artisans' work.
