There was a time when it held great status. It was used as currency. It inspired trade routes. It was a political weapon, immortalised in Gandhi's Salt March.

The simplest things are so often the most enduring. And today, it lives in kitchens all over the world. To bring out flavour, to preserve, to purify. It even reaches into our imagination, called on to ward off bad luck and bad energy.

In the Tagus estuary, Salinas do Samouco were once the country's largest salt producers. Today, Marinha do Canto still holds on, where the salt, stubbornly, remains.

It is here that this Sea Salt is made, in the traditional way. With knowledge that has withstood time. As seawater evaporates, it retains its key natural minerals - magnesium, calcium and potassium.
