Da Palma

The coppersmith Nuno Palma works enveloped in the shine of copper and brass, seated on his bench in the Oficina dos Caldeireiros (Coppersmiths’ Workshop), integrated into the Loulé Criativo project, a network revitalized by the municipality to give new life to traditional crafts dating back to the 13th century.

After learning from masters like Analide Carmo, Nuno became an expert in understanding how copper softens with heat, how it takes shape at the touch of the hammer, and how it sings before the final polish. His pieces range from everyday instruments and decorative objects - kitchen utensils, lamps, etc. He also carries out custom orders for homes or galleries.

In a rare case of a young man rescuing ancient techniques from extinction, Nuno has a passion for sharing the craft and its rituals. He therefore promotes the “Trabalhar o Cobre” (Working with Copper) workshops, where participants learn to cut, hammer, and finish a copper bowl that they can take home at the end.
